The documenta Institut
The documenta Institut is an independent, non-university research organization that sees itself as a center for exhibition studies. The research is carried out by three documenta professorships at the University of Kassel with secondary membership at the Kassel Kunsthochschule. Prof. Dr. Heinz Bude is the scientific director of the research organization. The sole shareholder of the documenta Institute Kassel gGmbH is the University of Kassel, and its institutional funding is provided by the State of Hessen.
