Open Seminar Art and Economies: Art and Post-Capitalism

10 / 2023

Open seminar at the Fridericianum Kassel

The documenta Institute invites all interested parties to participate in the seminars of the series “Art and Post-Capitalism”. There we will discuss and compare historical and contemporary perspectives on artistic speculation as a means of political change.

We will engage in dialogues with artists who situate themselves in the field of political and speculative art practices, as well as with theorists who examine this positioning. We will explore how emerging technologies associated with current financial systems - such as forecasting, scenario planning and other speculative infrastructures - could be harnessed for more progressive ends.
