About DiaL

DiaL (Diasporic Loops) is a small translocal network conceived by artist susan pui san lok, that brings together a number of artists, curators, writers and academics who have intermittently crossed paths & timezones since the early 2000s. DiaL have been meeting regularly online over the past year, supported by the Robert H. N. Ho Family Fdtn’s Global Arts and Chinese Heritage Initiative .

DiaL enables to reflect on past and future connections & the intersections between ongoing & exploratory research into archives & histories relating to early Chinese migration, in relation to anti-Asian racism & wider struggles. This activity has led to the planning of three workshops in 2025, which will bring the network together in person along with invited participants. The aim is to deepen the conversations & respective practices in grounded, embodied & translocally situated ways, to complicate historical & contextual frames, loops & layers.

The DiaL network is comprised of: Susan Pui San Lok, Alice Ming Wai Jim, Viêt Lê, Henry Tsang, Sasha Su-Ling Well und Mi You.
